Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
(Colossians 16:9)
Greetings and prayerful wishes from St. Sebastian's Church Koodaranhi.
Hope you are well aware of the brisk and hectic days of our mother Parish for she is going to be blessed with a new divine elegant Church. We have started this laborious and herculean task on 19th March 2018 on the very feast day which is solely dedicated to St. Joseph. We are planning to fulfill our most anticipated and long awaited dreamwork by the beginning of 2020, January and to consecrate it on 16th January 2020 which will be followed by the solemn Parish feast.
These firm decisions were taken under the light of the Pallipothuyogam which was conducted on 9th November 2014. After having a very detailed discussion the majority of the participants of the Pallipothuyogam polled to construct a new Church instead of the existing one.
There were umpteen reasons for making such a mammoth and vital decision. Those reasons were the following:
1. Rapid increase in the number of parishioners (presently our Parish consisted of 1280 families which apprehended the vitality for a new Church).
2. Another important concern was that the delapilated state of the old church.
Thus a special committee appointed by the Bishop of Thamarassery and the experts from REC came to analyse the delapilated condition of the old Church. They too recommended for a new Church.
After considering all the expert and special committee reviews the diocesan curia gave the green signal to the decision made by the Pallipothuyogam. These were the great milestones before the approbation for the construction of a new Church.
By this time with the whole hearted prayers, support and dedication of the parishioners we could almost attain the target as per the working schedule. So far we could move swiftly with the financial support of the parishioners, moreover by the divine providence of God.
Even then you might be well aware of the financial crisis and burden that our parishioners do suffer due to the landslide and flood that occured in our parish territory.
So I earnestly beseech you to have your kind hearted support and financial assistance to complete this divine task in the time schedule.
Expecting your wholehearted support and prayers let me wind up this letter.
